Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator wanted

Bellefonte Borough is seeking applicants for the following position: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Essential Functions of Job include, but are not limited to: Operate a wide range of wastewater treatment plant equipment, including raw sewage pumps, diaphragm pumps, screens, compressors, aeration tanks, and
centrifugal blowers, hoists, steam cleaners, conveyors, dump trucks, and power hand tools. Perform laboratory tests, visual inspection of samplers, weighing trucks and monitoring and sampling septage discharges, and keeping accurate records; perform wastewater procedures, and visual inspection of the chemical precipitation processes, operating sludge dewatering equipment; routinely monitor SCADA system and all tank levels. Maintain all treatment plant equipment and the facility in a neat and orderly fashion, including plowing snow, blowing snow, minor snow shoveling and minor landscaping. This position works a rotating shift (first, second and third) 7 days a week with some weekends off. This position can be filled by a certified or entry level individual.
