Wastewater Treatment Plant Licensed Operator / In-Training
Caernarvon Township Municipal Sewer Authority is now accepting resumes to fill a full-time position for a Licensed Wastewater Operator or Candidate currently enrolled in PADEP accredited courses.
CTMSA currently owns and operates 0.95MGD SBR wastewater facility, collection system and pump station.
Position Description:
Wastewater Operators are responsible for the Daily Laboratory testing for NPDES permits. Facilitate Lab samples to be collected by an accredited Laboratory. Manage solids generated and disposed through mechanical dewatering. Perform Maintenance of certain equipment and upkeep for the facility and grounds. Various collection system and pump station checks and upkeep. All employees are to work in a professional and safe manner that will comply with all regulatory and facility permits. Candidates will work under the direction of the Superintendent and Operator in Charge for the facility or SOP guidelines.
Requirements/Skills:
PADEP Wastewater Certification Class C & E Subclass 1 & 4
Valid Pa drivers license
Ability to work weekends and holidays and respond to emergency calls on a rotating schedule within a timely manner.
Able to lift items 50lbs or more and travel stairs or ladders including confined spaces.
Working Knowledge of Wastewater process, wastewater treatment plant operating standards outlined in NPDES permit guidelines, municipal, state, and federal regulations and in design manual for treatment plant.
Aqua SBR and Allen Bradley PLC/Scada system a plus. Experience with mechanical, electrical and pumping systems.
Attention to detail with record keeping and data entry.
Basic knowledge of general maintenance and repair practices for treatment facility.
Basic knowledge of chemicals used in treatment process.
Basic knowledge of mechanical principles involved in the operation of motors, pumps, belts, and blowers.
Working Conditions:
Work is frequently performed either alone or with frequent interruptions, either inside a normal office environment or in the outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
