The purpose of this course is to expose wastewater treatment facility operators to the skills needed to effectively troubleshoot and optimize the activated sludge treatment process. This course addresses both the fundamental microbiology and chemistry of the activated sludge process, and the practical aspect of operating, optimizing, and troubleshooting. The concept of optimization as used in this training course is limited to making improvements in the operation of various unit processes.
