Science of Dry Barrel Fire Hydrant Inspection and Comprehensive Audits: Fire Hydrants are critical infrastructure for your distribution system and your community as a whole. Performing a system-wide audit of those hydrants is important to ensure they function when needed and do not cause damage to the system. This course will provide operators with the information to begin inspecting hydrants, common issues, and basic maintenance for hydrants.

Science of Water Main Breaks: Drinking Water providers maintain miles of essential water mains. These water mains are under threat from age, soils, corrosion, and other factors. Breaks will occur, and systems need to be prepared to handle these breaks before they happen. This course will focus on the steps to repairing and tracing the causes of water main breaks including how to understand boil water alerts and the require State Regulations during a water distribution shut down scenario.
