General Manager Job Opening

The Maiden creek Township Authority (MTA), Berks County, PA seeks an experienced leader to serve as its General Manager (GM). The MTA provides water and sewer service to approximately 3,000 sewer and water customers.  The water system is supplied by groundwater wells. The sewer system uses an oxidation ditch.  The GM has authority to supervise and direct all day-to-day operations.  The GM reports to a five-member Authority Board.  The GM will administer an annual budget of $2,000,000 and will oversee 4.0 to 6.0 million in capital projects.  The MTA is in excellent financial condition and maintains a fully funded defined benefit pension plan.  The MTA Board seeks an outstanding, communicative and innovative leader with demonstrated skills in the management of water and sewer facilities.  Candidates should have five years of senior management experience.  It is preferred that the successful candidate possess a PA DEP Operator license Water C, Subclasses 8, 9, 11 and a Wastewater License C-1 or acquire them within 30 months of employment.  Candidate should have strong financial skills, HR, and planning experience and demonstrated skills with federal and state grant administration.  Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in environmental engineering or public management. Candidates with a combination of education and demonstrated experience may be considered.  Salary range is $100 – $125 K with excellent benefits.
